If you upgrade your subscription to discovery+ (Ad-Free), the charge for your current limited-ad plan will be refunded, and you will be charged for the ad-free plan. An upgrade to your subscription plan will take effect immediately. A plan downgrade will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.
If you subscribed via the web, Xbox One, or your Samsung Smart TV, you can change your plan by signing in at discoveryplus.com and following the instructions below:
Web, Xbox One, or Samsung Smart TV
Upgrading Subscription:
- Visit discoveryplus.com from your mobile phone or computer and sign in using your discovery+ email address and password.
- Select the account icon at the top right of your screen to open the dropdown menu.
- Choose "Account" from the dropdown menu.
- On the "Manage Your Account" screen, select "Change Plan" in the Plans section.
- Select the Ad-Free plan
Downgrading Subscriptions:
- Visit discoveryplus.com from your mobile phone or computer and sign in using your discovery+ email address and password.

- Choose "Account" from the dropdown menu.
- On the "Manage Your Account" screen, select "Change Plan" in the Plans section.
- Select the Ad-Lite plan
iPad/iPhone:
Upgrading Subscriptions:
- On your iPad/iPhone, navigate to Settings under your Apple ID.
- Under your Account, select Subscriptions
- Cancel the current plan that you are subscribed to
- Subscribe to the Ad-Free plan
Downgrading Subscriptions:
- On your iPad/iPhone, navigate to Settings under your Apple ID.
- Under your Account, select Subscriptions
- Cancel the current plan that you are subscribed to
- Subscribe to the Ad-Lite plan
Apple TV:
Upgrading Subscriptions:
- On your Apple TV, navigate to Settings.
- Select Users & Accounts, then select your account.
- Select Subscriptions.
- Choose the discovery+ subscription, then select Cancel Subscription.
- Go back into the discovery+ app and choose the Ad-Free plan.
Downgrading Subscriptions:
- On your Apple TV, navigate to Settings.
- Select Users & Accounts, then select your account.
- Select Subscriptions.
- Choose the discovery+ subscription, then select Cancel Subscription.
- Go back into the discovery+ app and choose the Ad-Lite plan.
Android:
Upgrading Subscriptions:
- From Google Play Store, open the sidebar menu using the hamburger button.
- Click Subscriptions
- Click the discovery+ app.
- Click Cancel
- Go back into the discovery+ app and choose the Ad-Free plan.
Downgrading Subscriptions:
- From Google Play Store, open the sidebar menu using the hamburger button.
- Click Subscriptions
- Click the discovery+ app.
- Click Cancel
- Go back into the discovery+ app and choose the Ad-Lite plan.
Roku:
Upgrading Subscriptions:
- While signed into the discovery+ app, navigate to the Account screen under the main menu.
- Scroll to Account and select Change to discovery+ for $6.99 month (Ad-Free)
Downgrading Subscriptions:
- While signed into the discovery+ app, navigate to the Account screen under the main menu.
- Scroll to Account and select Change to discovery+ for $4.99 month (Ad-Lite)
Fire TV/Fire Stick
Upgrading Subscriptions:
- Visit amazon.com
- Sign in, and navigate to your Account dropdown
- Select Memberships & Subscriptions
- Select Manage Your Subscriptions
- Turn off auto-renewal
- Go back into the discovery+ app and choose the Ad-Free plan.
Downgrading Subscriptions:
- Visit amazon.com
- Sign in, and navigate to your Account dropdown
- Select Memberships & Subscriptions
- Select Manage Your Subscriptions
- Turn off auto-renewal
- Go back into the discovery+ app and choose the Ad-Lite plan.
Android TV
Upgrading Subscriptions:
- Visit play.google.com
- Navigate to My Subscriptions under the main menu
- Select Cancel Subscription for discovery+
- Go back into the discovery+ app and choose the Ad-Free plan.
Downgrading Subscriptions:
- Visit play.google.com
- Navigate to My Subscriptions under the main menu
- Select Cancel Subscription for discovery+
- Go back into the discovery+ app and choose the Ad-Lite plan.
