Add, change, or reset a profile PIN

Profile PINs are optional. When you create a Profile PIN for a particular profile, you can prevent other household members from viewing that profile.

For each profile, you can create a 4-digit Profile PIN to lock that profile.

When a profile is locked, the 4-digit Profile PIN must be entered to access that profile. Locked profiles have a Lock icon beside the avatar.

Add a Profile PIN

Choose the device you're using:

 

Phone, tablet, or computer

  1. In discovery+, choose your profile and then Edit Profiles.
  2. To lock or unlock your profile, choose Lock Profile.
  3. If prompted, enter your account password and choose Submit.
  4. If prompted, enter a 4-digit Profile PIN and choose Save.
  5. Choose Done.

When a profile is locked, you'll need to enter the Profile PIN in order to access that profile.

 

TV device

  1. In discovery+, choose your profile.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Choose the Edit icon below the profile you want to edit.
    • Apple TV: Choose Edit and then the profile you want to edit.
  3. To lock or unlock your profile, choose Lock Profile.
  4. If prompted, enter your account password. To open the on-screen keyboard, press the Select or OK button on your remote.
  5. If prompted, enter a 4-digit Profile PIN and choose Save.
  6. Scroll down and choose Done.

When a profile is locked, you'll need to enter the Profile PIN in order to access that profile.

Change or reset a Profile PIN

Choose the device you're using:

 

Phone, tablet, or computer

  1. In discovery+, choose your profile and then Edit Profiles.
  2. Select the profile connected to the PIN you want to update.
  3. Choose Reset Profile PIN (this option is only available if you previously locked your profile).
  4. Enter your account password and choose Submit.
  5. Enter a new 4-digit PIN and choose Save.
  6. Choose Done.
 

TV device

  1. In discovery+, choose your profile.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Choose the Edit icon below the profile you want to edit.
    • Apple TV: Choose Edit and then the profile you want to edit.
  3. Choose Reset Profile PIN (this option is only available if you previously locked your profile).
  4. Enter your account password. To open the on-screen keyboard, press the Select or OK button on your remote.
  5. Enter a new 4-digit PIN and choose Save.
  6. Scroll down and choose Done.

Forgot your Profile PIN?

Choose the device you're using:

 

Phone or tablet

  1. When you're prompted for your Profile PIN, choose Forgot PIN? The app will open a browser window.
  2. Choose Reset Profile PIN.
  3. Enter your account password and choose Next.
  4. Tap the first box, enter a new PIN, and then choose Save.
  5. Scroll down and choose Done.
  6. Close the browser window and go back to the Max app.
 

Computer or TV device

  1. When you're prompted for your Profile PIN, choose Forgot PIN?
  2. Enter your account password. TV device: To open the on-screen keyboard, press the Select or OK button on your remote.
  3. Enter a new PIN and choose Save.
